So my wife was good friends with Dick Worthington, and when he was downsizing he decided to give us a canoe if we promised to give it a good home. Not one to look a gift horse in the mouth, I hurried over to find a lovely solo Wenonah Prism in kevlar with all-wood gunwales. Very light-weight: I can load it on the car myself easily. It was set for solo, with a lightweight seat and foot-brace, but I knew it came with optional seats in bow and stern for occasional use as a double. So I installed seats so my daughter and her friend can go, and I use it with a double-paddle when the water is calm.
There is something wonderful about a free boat. Every time I go out in it I think of Dick.
